Program: Bilingual Authorization
Overview
Bilingual Authorization in Spanish, Korean or Armenian may be obtained concurrently with the preliminary teaching credential or after students obtain their preliminary teaching credential first. They are required to take SED 525BL Bilingual and Bicultural Teaching in Multiethnic Secondary Schools (3) and a culture-specific class; i.e., CHS 430 The Chicana/o Child (3) or CHS 431 The Chicana/o Adolescent (3) for Spanish bilingual authorization; or SED 516K Teaching the Bilingual and Bicultural Student: Korean-American (3) for Korean bilingual authorization; or ARMN 440 The Armenian American Child (3) for Armenian bilingual authorization. They must also pass the CSET LOTE II (Armenian) or III (Korean and Spanish).
