Graduate and Post-Baccalaureate Application Procedures
The following information applies generally to all 23 campuses of the California State University system. For information specific to CSUN graduate and post-baccalaureate application procedures, please refer to the Graduate Studies section of this Catalog and to the Prospective Students website.
All graduate and post-baccalaureate applicants (i.e., doctorate, joint Ph.D. applicants, master’s degree applicants, those seeking educational credentials or certificates and, where permitted, holders of baccalaureate degrees interested in taking courses for personal or professional growth) must file a complete graduate application as described in the graduate and post-baccalaureate admission materials at Cal State Apply. Applicants seeking a second bachelor’s degree must submit the undergraduate application for admission. (CSUN applicants seeking a second bachelor’s degree should consult Admissions and Records for a list of approved majors and submit the graduate application for admission.) Applicants who completed undergraduate degree requirements in the preceding term are also required to complete and submit an application and the $55* nonrefundable application fee. To be assured of initial consideration by more than one campus, it is necessary to submit separate applications (including fees) to each. All CSU applications must be submitted online at Cal State Apply. An acknowledgment will be sent to the applicant when the online application has been submitted.
*The application fee amount of $70 will be effective for the Fall 2020 application cycle that begins on October 1, 2019.
