The CSUN Women’s Research and Resource Center (WRRC) is a warm, inviting, comfortable place for all CSUN students to learn, grow, hang out between classes, volunteer, or find resources and referrals for a variety of issues and challenges they may face. While the center specializes in issues and situations particular to women’s experiences, all gender identities are welcome to use and enjoy the space and resources. The WRRC provides a resource-lending library with more than 1,500 women’s studies and gender-based holdings. In 2016, the center launched the WRRC Food and Toiletry Pantry, where students, faculty, staff and alumni can pick up free groceries for the week. Most recently, the center rolled out the Wellness Vending Machine (WVM), which is the first of its kind in the CSU system. Items available in the WVM include emergency contraception pills, pads/tampons, condoms, lube, pregnancy tests and ibuprofen/Tylenol. The WVM is located in the Sol Center, USU. Each semester, the WRRC offers a variety of meetings and special events, including guest speakers, film screenings, awareness rallies and more. The Women’s Research and Resource Center participates in a wide array of political and social campaigns and supports students in academic endeavors.
