Parking and Transportation Services is committed to increasing access to the campus for all CSUN students, employees and visitors. This department is responsible for the day-to-day operations of the campus parking facilities and transportation programs.
A valid CSUN parking permit is required for all vehicles that park on campus. Students/Employees must obtain the appropriate parking permit before parking in a designated “Student” or “Staff” parking lot. Parking pay stations may also be used to pay for parking. Keep in mind that semester/annual permits are not valid at pay-by-space locations. The pay stations on campus accept credit cards; one, five and ten dollar bills (no twenty dollar bills); nickels, dimes and quarters. One-day and short-term parking permits are available. These may be purchased from the pay stations found in all major student parking lots. Daily permits can also be purchased with cash or credit cards at any one of the three Information Booths on campus. Semester and academic year parking permits are available for sale only through the CSUN Portal, under the “Buy a Parking Permit” tab.
CSUN is a virtual parking permit campus using the license plate number of the vehicle in place of a physical parking decal. Up to five (5) vehicles may be associated with a parking permit. Vehicles can be added or deleted anytime through the CSUN Portal. Only one vehicle associated with the parking permit may be parked on campus per day. Additional vehicles parked on the same day will be cited.
Electric Vehicle Charging Stations are still available around campus for those driving electric vehicles.
It is strongly recommended that during the first week of the semester, students arrive on campus 20 minutes before their first class since parking near the academic core is limited. Parking permits are required at all times, including the first week of the semester. A summary of the campus parking rules and regulations may be obtained at the campus information booths, at the Parking Services Office or online at Parking and Transportation Services.
