CM 326/L. Soil Mechanics for Construction and Lab (2/1)

Corequisites: CM 326L, CM 340. Soil composition, description, and physical properties of soils; earthmoving estimating, soil explorations, groundwater effects, earth retaining structures and foundations, plate tectonics, and introduction to the seismic impacts on soils. Two hours of lecture per week. Lab investigations and experiments in soil mechanics, including field requirements for foundations and other earthwork structures. Three hours of technical activity per week.
