Prerequisites: 6 units of Philosophy. Advanced examination of one or more key issues, positions, and controversies in the philosophical study of linguistic meaning, such as the meaning of proper names; the politics of slurs; the relation of semantics to pragmatics; or speech acts and other forms of performative speech.
