Course: RS 390. Buddhism (3)
Prerequisite: Completion of the lower division writing requirement. Study of the fundamental concepts of Theravada, Mahayana and Vajrayana Buddhism (e.g., nirvana, enlightenment, karma, dharma). Examines the historic development of these concepts in their various Asian cultural and geographic settings, including China, India, Japan, and Tibet, and its interaction with non-Buddhist traditions such as Daoism, Hinduism, Jainism, and Shintoism.
