Survey of literature produced by Black people in the Americas (North and South) and the Caribbean to 1930 through the framework of Black empowerment. The dynamics of the Black experience in the Americas and the Caribbean are explored through their historical and cultural context, including racism and the structures of white supremacy that impact the Black experience.
