Course: AFRS 451. Mass Communication in the Black Community (3)
Prerequisite: Completion of the lower division writing requirement. Historical analysis of the role played by the mass media in the Black community from enslavement to contemporary times. Particular attention is given to evaluating the African American press, as well as highlighting how mass media in the Black community has been used as forms of resistance and liberation.
