Course: CADV 180. Statistics in Applied Developmental Science (3)
Prerequisite: Child and Adolescent Development major. This course introduces fundamental skills of statistical reasoning used in research in the developmental sciences including techniques of data collection, organization, presentation analysis and interpretation using statistical analysis tools. Topics include descriptive statistics, probability and sampling distributions; statistical inference; correlation and linear regression; analysis of variance, chi-square and t-tests; and application of technology for statistical analysis including the interpretation of the relevance of statistical findings. Course includes focus on using data and examples from the fields of child and adolescent development and education.
