Prerequisite: CE 360Introduction to the principles and practices of groundwater hydrology. The course covers the fundamentals of subsurface flow and transport, emphasizing the role of groundwater in the hydrologic cycle, the relation of groundwater flow to geologic structure, and the management of contaminated groundwater. Study of the fate of contaminants in the subsurface environment. The focus is on the transport of chemicals through porous media, including possible transformations (chemical, physical, and biological).
