Course: CHS 201. Survey of Mexican Literature in Translation (3)
Preparatory: Completion of the lower division writing requirement. An introductory survey of Mexican literature in translation focused on the fiction, non-fiction and poetry of Mexico’s major writers in the modern and contemporary period. The significance of gender, race, social class, sexuality, history, and philosophy will be analyzed in the literature of 20th and 21st century Mexico. Meets the Ethnic Studies requirement.
