Course: ECE 420L. Digital Systems Design with Programmable Logic Lab (1)
Prerequisite: ECE 320/L. Corequisite: ECE 420. This course is designed to cover and compare a variety of programmable logic devices with design examples to show their applications. It emphasizes the implementation of digital systems with programmable logic devices using VHDL as design description language and Xilinx Vivado software for design simulation and verification. Lab activities include a variety of hands-on experience from designing logic with the FPGA devices to programming them. Students will also learn the FPGA technology in detail and how FPGA interface with other devices. FPGA design techniques will be taught in addition to FPGA architecture. 3 hours of lab per week.
