Course: ECON 161. Principles of Macroeconomics (3)

Prerequisites: Multiple Measures Placement in (1) GE-level Mathematics or completion of  MATH 093 or MATH 196QR or MATH 196S and (2) GE-level Written Communication or completion of 113A or 114A; ECON 160Introduction to economics as it applies to the national and international economy. Topics include differences in standards of living across countries, the monetary system and the determinants of inflation, and the factors causing growth and recessions. Examines the ability of the Federal Reserve and other government policy makers to influence the course of the economy. (Available for General Education, D1 Social Sciences.)
