Course: EPC 634. Language and Concept Development in Multicultural-Multilingual Early Childhood Settings (3)
Prerequisite: EPC 430. This course is designed to prepare educators to be competent in working with culturally and linguistically diverse young children ages 3 to 8 years, including children with diverse abilities. Through a combination of theory, research, application, and reflection, students will develop the knowledge, skills, and strategies to create inclusive, anti-bias, socially just learning environments and to establish and maintain partnerships with families to promote equity in access to learning and development for all young children, including monolingual, multilingual, and dual language learners. This course is aligned with the California PK-3 Specialist Instruction Credential Teacher Performance Standards and Expectations.
