Prerequisites: Lower division course in the social sciences; Completion of the lower division writing requirement. An exploration of the diverse physical and human landscapes of California. The course examines the state’s environmental context (climate, landforms, water, vegetation, wildlife, minerals); human imprints on the natural landscape (population, agriculture, industry, urbanization); and the physical and human challenges facing California today.
