Course: HSCI 470A. Environmental Determinants of Health (3)
Prerequisite: Current standing in a Public Health academic program at the undergraduate or graduate level. This course introduces students to key topics in environmental determinants of health, regulation, and management in the field of public health. The course deepens students’ understanding of how environmental factors influence public health outcomes and explores control measures used to prevent or mitigate these effects at the individual, interpersonal, and community levels. Through critical analysis of pertinent literature, students will explore the scientific and technical foundations of environmental health and assess both research and practical approaches to managing environmental hazards that affect public health. Available for graduate credit.
