Program: Healthcare Systems and Operations Certificate
Program Description
The Healthcare Systems and Operations Certificate is an online program featuring three core courses that focus on essential elements of healthcare systems and operations, with an emphasis on utilizing health analytics to enhance operational quality. Upon completing this certificate, students will acquire specialized skills in healthcare quality improvements and operations.
This program is available through self support (funded entirely by student fees and offered in a cohort format) in partnership between one of the CSUN academic colleges and The Tseng College.
Program Requirements
A. Requirements for Admission to the Program
Applicants must fulfill the following requirements before enrollment. The department may make exceptions based on individual evaluations.
- Meet the basic university requirement for admission to graduate certificate programs.
- Possess a bachelor’s degree in a healthcare-related, IT, or data science field. A minimum GPA of 2.5 is required. No standardized test scores are required for this certificate program.
- Submit a one-page written statement outlining the applicant’s interest in healthcare analytics and career goals.
- Provide a current resume or curriculum vitae.
- One letter of recommendation attesting to the applicant’s aptitude for graduate-level study and the healthcare industry.
Note: Applicants not meeting all the requirements may be considered on a case-by-case basis, and must address the specific reasons for any requirement waivers in their personal statement.
