Course: LRS 120. Integrated Arts in Elementary Education (3)
Prerequisite: Admission to the ITEP-Freshman Option. This course is based on the visual and performing arts (VAPA) California Arts Standards for Public Schools, through the exploration/investigation of dance, music, media arts, theatre, and visual arts education. This course introduces the content, artistic literacies, processes, and process components of the visual and performing arts in PK-6 inclusive settings. The course is designed to develop creativity in teaching and learning for prospective teachers. The course is designed to develop connections between the various arts disciplines as well as integrating other core subjects taught in California’s classrooms.
