Course: MUS 407B. Keyboard Literature II (2)
Prerequisites: MUS 201, MUS 202. This class is designed to study the history and literature for keyboard instruments (fortepiano and piano) from the Romantic era to the present, with an emphasis on evolving styles and forms, such as the national schools of the 19th century and some defining theoretical trends of the 20th. The material covered will have a great emphasis on listening and studying scores with a specific goal of examining not only those compositions which have been identified as standard classics but also will include compositions that have defined the evolution of musical eras. Available for graduate credit.
