Course: MUS 472. School Music Lab Ensemble (2)
Prerequisites: Admission to the Pre-Teaching area. Completion of three of the following four methods courses: MUS 334, MUS 335, MUS 336, MUS 337. Recommended Preparatory: Singing experience in a choral ensemble and/or completion of MUS 338A is highly recommended, but not required. Class instruction and experience teaching and conducting public school music literature for beginning band, choir and string orchestra. Students will conduct, rehearse, sing and perform music that is typical for beginning school musicians on secondary wind, string and percussion instruments in this ensemble-type class. Required for Pre-Teaching option; others admitted if space permits. 4 hours per week.
