Course: PHIL 444. Seminar in Asian Philosophy (3)
Prerequisite: 6 units of philosophy or permission of the instructor. Advanced study of significant concepts or problems in philosophy considered from the perspective of one or more schools of Asian philosophical thought. Texts and figures will represent philosophical traditions originating in East Asia, South Asia, or Southeast Asia, with possible topics to include: Confucian ethics, concepts of mind in Indian philosophy, Japanese aesthetics, or the philosophy of East Asian martial arts.
