Course: PT 760. Professional Practice I (2)
Prerequisite: Admission to the Doctor of Physical Therapy (DPT) program. Introduces students to the practice of physical therapy, including cultural, ethical, and psychosocial factors influencing client interaction and rehabilitation outcomes. Discusses the history of physical therapy practice within the United States, the American Physical Therapy Association (APTA), and the provision of health care in the United States. Presents legal and ethical foundations, including the role of state practice acts and the code of ethics.
