Course: RS 225. Religion and Sport (3)
Historical and contemporary study of the ways that sport can serve as a ritual that unites and divides communities and gives participants the power to remake themselves through the ways they use their bodies. Students will learn why some people think sports are a religion, how religion plays a role in sport, and what happens when religion and sport come into conflict. Available for General Education, Area 3B Humanities.
