This course examines the foundations of recreation, hospitality, and tourism, focusing on industry sectors from local to global contexts. Students will explore the social and cultural dynamics shaping these fields, including interactions between service providers, customers, and stakeholders. Emphasis is placed on the industries’ impacts on communities and social structures, with attention to career opportunities within the fields of recreation, tourism and hospitality. Regular written assignments are required. Meets the Lifelong Learning requirement. Available for General Education, Area 4 Social and Behavioral Sciences.
