Course: SCI 565C. Teaching Science for Understanding (3-3)
Principles and procedures for engaging secondary-level students in science learning are presented in this course. This course is intended for secondary-level science teachers, who will develop competencies in the selection of resources and development of lesson plans for a variety of science topics with a special emphasis on science content and practices. Teachers will become adept at both formative and summative assessment of science content knowledge and skills. Class will meet 6 hours per week or equivalent during summer term.
