Course: SPED 583ECA. Transitions and Kindergarten in Early Childhood Special Education (1)
Prerequisite: Restricted to candidates admitted to the CSUN Preliminary Education Specialist Credential program in Early Childhood Special Education (ECSE) prior to Fall 2022, or to those eligible for or already possessing a Preliminary Education Specialist Credential in ECSE authorizing the holder to serve in ages birth through pre-kindergarten. Designed for individuals who want to obtain the expanded authorization implemented in Fall 2022, this course satisfies the updated competencies covered by the California authorization covering young children with disabilities, birth through kindergarten. Students will learn, practice, and master the specific Teacher Performance Expectations (TPEs) relating to transitions (ECSE TPE 6.4, 6.8) and kindergarten (ECSE TPE 3.1, 4.2, 4.3, 6.6) that have been added/modified by the California Commission on Teacher Credentialing.
