UNIVERSITY CATALOG: 2019-2020

Parking and Transportation Services is committed to increasing access to the campus for all CSUN students, employees and visitors. This department is responsible for the day-to-day operations of the campus parking facilities and transportation programs

Display of a valid CSUN parking permit is required for all vehicles that park on campus. Students must obtain the appropriate parking permit before parking in a designated “Student” parking lot. Parking pay stations and mobile payment apps may also be used to pay for parking. Keep in mind that permits are not valid at pay-by-space locations. The pay stations on campus accept credit cards; one, five and ten dollar bills (no twenty dollar bills); nickels, dimes and quarters. One-day and short-term parking permits are available. These may be purchased from the pay stations found in all major student parking lots or mobile payment apps. Daily permits can also be purchased with cash or credit cards at any one of the three Information Booths on campus. Semester and academic-year parking permits are available for sale only through the campus Portal, under the Financial Matters tab. Semester and academic-year permits must be affixed to the vehicle front inside windshield, lower corner, passenger side. The permits are easily removable and are repositionable. To be considered valid, all permits must be completely visible, including the permit number and security features. Electric vehicle charging stations are available around campus for those driving electric vehicles.

It is strongly recommended that during the first week of the semester, students arrive on campus up to an hour before their first class since parking near the academic core is limited. Parking permits are required at all times, including the first week of the semester. A summary of the campus parking rules and regulations may be obtained at the campus information booths, at the Parking Services Office or online at Parking and Transportation Services.
