The Associated Students (AS) is the primary advocate for students at CSUN and provides excellent, meaningful programs and services designed to create and enhance a spirited, learning-focused campus environment. All regularly matriculated students are members of the Associated Students of CSUN. This incorporated campus entity is governed by elected student leaders, including a president, a vice president and a 22-member senate. The senate sets policy, governs financial matters, offers student service programs, provides input on University policies and recommends students to serve on University advisory boards. All students are assessed a semester-based fee that generates revenue to support more than 200 clubs and organizations, leadership programs and student scholarships. The Associated Students programs and services include the Ticket Office, Outdoor Adventures, Sport Clubs, the Children’s Center, the Sustainability Center, AS Productions, the Student Legal Support Center, the transportation subsidy, Camp Matadors for incoming students, and a wide variety of programs, concerts, films and speakers. The Associated Students provides leadership positions as well as student employment across all AS departments. AS also provides scholarships and endowments to aid in students’ success at CSUN.
