Associated Students (AS) serves as the official voice and primary advocate for California State University, Northridge (CSUN) students. Dedicated to fostering a spirited, student-centered campus, AS delivers impactful programs and services that enhance the academic and social experience.
All regularly matriculated students are members of AS, an incorporated campus entity governed by student-elected leadership. This includes a president, vice president and a 22-member senate. The AS Senate sets policy, oversees finances, coordinates student services, advises on university decisions and appoints student representatives to university advisory boards.
Students pay a mandatory fee each semester, which funds a wide range of initiatives, including support for over 200 student clubs and organizations, leadership development programs and scholarships.
Programs and services include:
- Ticket Office
- Outdoor Adventures
- Sport Clubs
- Children’s Center
- Sustainability Center
- AS Productions and Sustainability
- Student Legal Support Center
- Transportation Subsidy
- Camp Matador (for incoming students)
- Concerts, films, guest speakers and other campus events
AS also offers numerous leadership opportunities and student employment across all departments, along with scholarships and endowments to support student success.
