UNIVERSITY CATALOG: 2026-2027

The Associated Students Children’s Center at California State University, Northridge, provides high-quality early childhood education and care for children ages 18 months to 5 years old. Designed to support the academic and professional success of families, the center proudly serves children of CSUN students, faculty, staff, alumni, and the surrounding community, with priority enrollment given to student-parent families.

With the capacity to serve up to 136 children, the Children’s Center offers a nurturing, engaging, and developmentally appropriate environment that promotes learning, social-emotional growth, and school readiness.

As a student-centered program, the Children’s Center also provides valuable student employment, practicum, and internship opportunities that support student learning and professional development. Student assistants gain hands-on experience working alongside early childhood education professionals while supporting the daily operations of the center and the growth and development of young children.

The Children’s Center collaborates with multiple academic departments across campus to support student success through fieldwork, practicum experiences, internships, observations, and research opportunities. These partnerships include programs such as Child and Adolescent Development (CADV), Kinesiology, and other university departments that provide students with real-world learning experiences in an early childhood education setting.

To help make quality care accessible, subsidized free or low-cost childcare may be available for income-eligible student families. Applications and additional enrollment information are available at the Children’s Center office or on the website.
