Student Development and Transitional Programs (SDTP) connects, develops and celebrates students through programs, events, and services that bookend the university experience.
New Student Orientation
The goal for New Student Orientation (NSO) is to support the continuous process of integrating students into the academic, cultural, and social context of CSUN. NSO provides a solid foundation and comprehensive introduction to student life. NSO also provides Parent and Family Programs.
Signature Welcome Events
Occurring at the start of the Fall semester, SDTP coordinates annual signature events including the President’s Picnic and New Student Convocation among others.
CSUN Mentorship Program
The CSUN Mentorship Program promotes student success by aiming to help students more easily navigate university life through exploration of campus resources and engagement/involvement opportunities. Peer Mentors are committed to sharing their own experiences, motivating fellow CSUN students and helping set goals for success.
Commencement and Honors Convocation
CSUN Commencement and Honors Convocation occurs at the conclusion of each academic year around mid/late May.
