AFRS 368. Politics of Hip Hop (3)

Prerequisite: Completion of the lower division writing requirement. This course explores the power of Hip Hop and Hip Hop artists to act as forces of political and social change both locally and globally. This course also examines the interaction between Hip Hop and various cultural, political, economic, and institutional forces in society. A special emphasis is placed on Hip Hop’s liberatory potential for Africana people.
