ANTH 450. Historical Anthropology (3)

Prerequisites: ANTH 150 or ANTH 152 or graduate level standing; Completion of the lower division writing requirement. Introduction to the anthropological study of cultures within a historical context. Examines the importance of a diachronic approach to the study of contemporary societies and introduces anthropological methods for a study of the past. Teaches critical analysis of documentary materials relevant for anthropological research. Regular written assignments required. Available for graduate credit.
