PHIL 352. Philosophy of Reality (3)

Prerequisite: Completion of the lower division writing requirement. Philosophical examination of key issues concerning the nature and meaning of existence, such as personal identity; the reality of sex and gender; the existence of external reality; the existence of multiverses; or the reality of numbers and ideas. Attention is paid to both traditional and contemporary views, as well as to controversies in the field. Questions may include: What is a self? What is the nature of time? Why is there something instead of nothing? Do we have free will? Regular written assignments will be required.
