Desert ecology with emphasis on the structural, physiological, and behavioral adaptations for survival, focused on the plants and animals of the deserts of southwestern U.S. Includes an exploration of historical and contemporary land- and water-use patterns and conservation challenges. Available for graduate credit. Lecture 2 hours.
