UNIVERSITY CATALOG: 2020-2021

Greetings, Matadors!

The University Catalog serves as your essential map and guidebook for your journey to achieve your academic and professional goals at California State University, Northridge, providing answers and information about classes and your major, as well as general information about campus policies.

Due to the anticipated impact of COVID-19 throughout the nation, for Fall 2020 CSUN will deliver courses primarily through virtual and alternate modalities of learning (with some limited exceptions) and will continue with this primarily virtual instructional approach for the Spring 2021 semester. Whether your classes are on campus or remote, please be assured that CSUN remains as committed as ever to ensuring your academic success and intellectual growth, and to offering academic programs and support services that will help you reach your full potential. Indeed, now is an ideal time for you to pursue your educational and professional goals so that you can be competitive and prepared when you graduate and as the economy improves.

Please become familiar with the contents of your University Catalog and refer to it often during your time at CSUN. Doing so will help you become familiar with the University’s programs and services and enable you to navigate and manage your academic career so that you may graduate in a timely manner. Nearly all of the support services and programs you will need to be help you in your academic progress, such as tutoring and mentor support — as well as opportunities to be involved at CSUN and enrich your college experience, such as clubs and student activities — remain available to students during this time to explore and participate in.

I am confident that your student experience will be productive and rewarding. We are an institution that offers opportunity and transformation, committed to helping you attain personal growth and fulfillment. We look forward to having you and your fellow students on campus as soon as it’s safe to do so. Until then, remain healthy and safe, and above all, focused on your studies.
