Course: SPED 679S. Internship in Educational Therapy Seminar (3)
Prerequisites: Admission to the M.A. in Educational Therapy program or the Educational Therapy, Advanced Study Certificate program; SPED 671, SPED 672, SPED 673 and SPED 676. Corequisite: SPED 679. SPED 679 and 679S are culminating courses in the Educational Therapy program. Through a supervised internship concurrent with this seminar, interns will work with a client on an individual and ongoing basis to practice and further develop effective clinical skills. In this seminar course, students will be guided through each stage of the internship by connecting content from courses to its practical application, to include strategies for gathering contextual information, completing formal and informal assessments, developing goals, managing cases, making referrals, collaborating with allied professionals, and self-reflection. Must earn a grade of “B” or better.
