Course: SPED 676. Clinical Case Management (3)
Prerequisites: Admission to Educational Therapy programs, SPED 400, SPED 406, SPED 501MM, SPED 503MME, SPED 672 and SPED 673. Pre/Corequisite: SPED 671.The focus of this course is on case management. Students will analyze contextual influences, such as the school, family, community and culture that impact a student’s performance, and demonstrate the ability to serve in the role of case manager (e.g., prioritizing goals, responding to parent concerns, understanding school demands). This course is designed to build on the knowledge and skills from foundational educational therapy coursework as related to establishing and maintaining effective, efficient and ethical practices.
