Course: EED 560EC. ECE Practicum: Halfday Lower Grades (8)
Prerequisites: Admission to the Early Childhood Education Credential Program. Verification of eligibility from Credential Office. Pre/Corequisites: EPC 430, EED 520, EED 565M, EED 555, SPED 402EC, EPC 634, SPED 431, EPC 683 or SPED 535, and EPC 642 or SPED 520EC. Corequisite: EED 559D. Teaching credential candidates in the Early Childhood Education Credential Program are placed with an exemplary mentor teacher for 20 hours of early clinical practice experience plus 10 weeks of supervised student teaching in a PreK-TK classroom (approximately 245 total hours of clinical practice). Student teachers plan and teach lessons primarily in reading and language arts, English language development (ELD) and mathematics, while refining their classroom management skills. Student teachers move toward mastery of the California Teaching Performance Expectations (TPEs) and rehearse the state-mandated Teaching Performance Assessment (TPA). (Credit/No Credit only)
